The new - and extremely expensive - state-of-the-art trams in Athens came on line just two weeks before the start of the Olympics... they were never on time or on schedule throughout the Games, often slowed down or completely stopped by pedestrians and/or cars crossing the tram lines, totally oblivious to the oncoming tram(s).
